--- title: Version 0.0.12 description: What changed in this release of Calendite. order: -12 --- # Version 0.0.12 ## Finding a place - While you type an address, the search fills the sheet, so more suggestions fit above the keyboard. Places you have already used on events come first, and Searching shows while it looks. - A line at the top of the list shows where search is looking. Tap Change to search near a different town. - After you pick a place, you can save it under your own name, such as Doctor. Saved places come first next time, and events at that address show the name. Rename or delete them from More > Saved places. - Setup now asks where your home is, so search looks near it first. You can skip this step. - On Android, Use Current Location fills in your address from a single location reading. Calendite keeps only the address, and gives the permission back when you close the app. ## Moving an event - An event that happens once has a Change Date button under its date. Tap it, pick a day, and confirm. - When you edit an event that happens once, its date now sits at the top with its times, and you pick it from the same calendar as a holiday's dates. ## Events - On the Events list and the day rail, an event's tags now sit on their own line under the time, so the title has the full width of the row again. An event with several tags wraps them rather than cutting the title short. ## Week view - Tapping an event in the Week view opens the same card you get on a computer: the event in its own colours, with its date, time, place and tags. Tap the card to open the event, or tap anywhere else to close it. ## Month view - The arrows at the top of the Month view now scroll from one month to the next, the same way a swipe does. Tap several times quickly to move through several months in one smooth scroll. - Swiping between months follows your finger, and works with the phone held sideways too. ## Alarms - On Android, when you pick an alarm and the phone won't let it take over the screen, Calendite tells you: This Alarm Stays Off Screen. Tap Allow to turn on full-screen alarms for Calendite. - If an alarm still can't reach the screen, Calendite says what is ringing between the tones, so you know to look in your notifications. While the phone is locked it says only "Calendite alarm" or "Calendite reminder", never the event's name. ## Event Groups - For copying a rota off a printed sheet, the calendar step has a By Day mode. Tap the first day, then tap each day's shift in order: the day fills and the next one is ready. Off clears a day, Skip leaves it as it is, and Back steps back a day. The month turns over by itself when you reach the end of it. - Give each shift the code your rota uses, such as E or LD, under its name. In By Day the codes are what you tap, and each day on the calendar shows its code so you can check it against the sheet. The codes never appear on your calendar. - Once a shift has a code, you can also say how the rota writes a day off, such as OFF. - Two shifts can't share a code. Calendite shows which shifts clash and waits until each has its own. - Edit Shifts changes your shifts' names, colours and codes, from the calendar step or from the group's page. Tap the arrow on a shift to change its hours, alerts and everything else. - A new shift's colour now comes from its name, and stays clearly different from your other shifts. Colours you pick yourself teach Calendite what you like. - The shift pages have Previous and Next buttons, so you can step through your shifts in order and go back to change one. - Calendite remembers whether you last used By Shift or By Day. ## Drafts - Anything you start and don't finish is kept as a draft: a new event, reminder, deadline or time period, a change to an event, or a new group part way through. Find them in More > Drafts. Tap one to carry on where you left off. - If your phone closes Calendite while you're in the middle of something, opening it again takes you straight back to it. - Cancel throws a draft away. Going back, or switching to another tab or app, keeps it. - Remove a draft from the list with the cross. Tap Undo if you change your mind. ## Picking a time - The time picker has a 24 Hour / AM / PM switch next to the time. Calendite remembers which one you used last and opens that way next time. - With a mouse, the time and duration pickers open as a card under their field. Type the hours and minutes, or pick them on the clock. Click away or press Enter to keep your choice, or press Escape to cancel. - In the card, a long duration tidies itself up when you move on, so 26 hours becomes 1 day 2 hours. An end time can't land before its start: picking an earlier time moves it on to the next day. ## Your phone's calendar - When you delete an event that came from your phone's calendar, you can delete it from the phone's calendar too. Choose Calendite, Phone or Everywhere; only Calendite is ticked unless you change it. Deleting one day of a repeating event takes just that day off the phone. - Setup asks for permission to read and change your phone's calendar. If you said no, tap Allow on the Phone row when you delete. - The same event no longer shows twice. An event you made in Calendite and its copy on your phone are one event, and so are the same event in two of your phone's calendars, or "Christmas" and "Christmas Day". - When the same event is in two of your phone's calendars and one of them changes, Calendite asks which version to keep. Look for Choose on the event. - Turning off the phone's calendar and choosing Remove Them takes away only the events your phone brought in. Events you also made in Calendite stay.
